Privacy statement

Version of 29 September 2026, drawn up for the new website decompagnie.nl. This is a translation of our Dutch privacy statement. Should the two versions differ, the Dutch text prevails.

1. Who we are

De Compagnie Makelaardij o.z. is responsible for the processing of your personal data as described in this statement. Our address is Rijksstraatweg 108, 3632 AG Loenen aan de Vecht, and we are registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 30127725. This statement applies to both of our offices, in Loenen aan de Vecht and in Bussum (Poststraat 7, 1401 EX Bussum, +31 35 699 16 50).

2. When we process your data

We process personal data when you:

  • ask us for a valuation, a meeting or a viewing
  • instruct us to sell, buy, let, rent or value a property
  • sign up for our property alerts or newsletter
  • contact us through a form, by email or by telephone
  • take part in a transaction as a buyer, seller, tenant, landlord or adviser
  • visit our website

3. Which data we process

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • your name, address, place of residence, email address and telephone number
  • information about the property, such as its address, land registry details, floor area, condition, photographs and documents
  • information about what you are looking for, your search profile and your budget
  • information we must record under the Dutch Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act (Wwft), including a copy or verification of your identity document, your citizen service number if it appears on that document, and the origin of the funds
  • correspondence, notes of conversations and appointments in our systems
  • financial information such as your bank account number and invoice details
  • technical information about your visit to our website, as explained in our cookie statement

We never ask for more than we need for the purpose. Our forms only ask for your name, email address, telephone number and, where relevant, the address of the property.

Where we rely on a legitimate interest, this is our interest in running our business and providing our services properly. We always balance that interest against your privacy.

5. Who we share your data with

We only share data with others when this is needed for our services or required by law. This may include:

  • the NVM and the publisher of funda, to register and publish the property and record the transaction
  • Realworks, the supplier of our estate agency software
  • the Kadaster, through PDOK: the maps on our website are loaded from there, which means your IP address is sent to the Kadaster. No cookies are placed and the data remains in the Netherlands
  • the notary, valuer, building surveyor, photographer, stylist or landscaper involved in your file
  • our partners HONK Hypotheekadvies and Brandt & Eskes Verkoopstyling, if you send a request for their services through our website. They receive a copy of that request directly
  • the owners association or its managing agent, if the property belongs to one
  • the Kadaster, the municipality and other public bodies from which we request information
  • our accountant, our bank and, for an unpaid invoice, a debt collection agency or bailiff
  • the suppliers listed in the table below
  • the Financial Intelligence Unit Netherlands, if we make a report under the Wwft. The law does not allow us to inform you of this.

We enter into a data processing agreement with every supplier that processes data on our behalf. We never sell your data.

Vercel and Dropbox are American companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has confirmed an adequate level of protection. The European Commission's standard contractual clauses also apply. All other suppliers keep your data within the European Economic Area.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Data from a request that does not lead to an instruction: two years after our last contact.
  • Files of completed instructions: seven years after completion, because of the statutory tax retention period and possible liability.
  • Customer due diligence data under the Wwft: five years after the business relationship ends or after the transaction, as required by law.
  • Search profiles and property alert registrations: until you unsubscribe, and no longer than one year after that.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected and to have it erased. You may also ask us to restrict its processing, object to processing based on a legitimate interest, and ask us to transfer the data you provided. Where you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing that took place before.

Please send your request to loenen@decompagnie.nl. We will respond within one month. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to confirm your identity. Please note that we are required to keep some data under the Wwft or tax law, even if you ask us to erase it.

If you are unhappy with the way we handle your data, please tell us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

8. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Our website only works over a secure connection, access to our systems is personal and protected by two factor authentication, and only staff who need the data can access it. If a data breach occurs, we follow our internal procedure and report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority and, where necessary, to you.

9. Automated decision making

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing without human involvement.

10. Cookies

Our cookie statement explains which cookies our website uses and why.

11. Changes

We update this statement whenever changes in our services or in the law call for it. The latest version is always available on decompagnie.nl. This version is dated 29 September 2026.
